A bold Isle of Skye single malt, “Port Ruighe” (pronounced Portree) honours the island’s seafaring legacy. Distilled at Talisker’s coastal distillery, this whisky is matured in ex-bourbon refill barrels before being finished in ruby port casks, marrying the distillery’s signature maritime smoke with rich fruity sweetness.

The nose opens with sweet-smoked oak, ripe plums, and raisin, layered over a briny marine mist, pepper, and salted caramel. Hints of toffee and vanilla soften the edges, while subtle smoke flickers in the distance.

On the palate, there’s a lush arrival, juicy red berries, dark fruit compote, and port wine richness. Sweet oak spice, a touch of peat smoke, and peppered warmth follow. The texture is creamy and mouth-coating, with the salty sea air and maritime tang carrying through. Finish: The finish lingers with smoky embers, bittersweet dark chocolate, and a soft drying wood spice. Sweet fruit gently recedes, leaving behind wine-fruit echoes, salt, and a long smoky tail.
