Kumeu River have become famous for making wines that threaten the greats of Burgundy - though you wouldn't have thought a Cremant de Bourgogne was under threat too! Behind the scenes, Michael Brajkovich MW has been working on an aperitif style Methode Traditionnelle (made like Champagne) Cremant d'Kumeu… a blend of 40% Pinot & 60% Chardonnay. The base vintage is 2011 and the wine spends 30 months on lees in bottle (en tirage) before being disgorged by hand and dosaged with a liqueur d'expedition based on their famously outstanding Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay 2006 (which serves the same role as Reserve wine). Bottled under crown seal to preserve freshness… it’s the perfect way to introduce yourself and guests to a ‘World Class’ Kumeu River Chardonnay selection inspired evening.

A complex and intriguing Methode, noticeably flinty and nutty, with apple, white peach and fine savoury notes.

Full bodied and rounded, with excellent Chardonnay appeal and a creamy, nougat finish, this is a striking Methode by Kumeu River. With future bottlings aging in the cellar now, Kumeu fans have one more world class wine to order every year!
