Perhaps not for the purists, but if you love trying new things and prefer lots of flavour and generosity, then this 1924 Double Black Cabernet, aged in bourbon barrels, is right in your wheelhouse. 1924 is a new and exclusive brand to Fine Wine Delivery, offering a dynamic, blockbuster Californian red wine experience at a very sensitive, accessible price tag. Smells
Dense, compact aromas leap from the glass with dark chocolate, coconut, Bourbon, notes of tobacco, fire embers, smoke and toasty vanilla.
Tastes
The palate is rich and full, and the mere typical structure of Cabernet brings some restraint to this otherwise opulent red. Flavours of ripe blackcurrants, blackberry, fresh coffee grinds and dark chocolate with hints of smoky maple syrup make for a delicious array of warm flavours. The inherent tannins and acid of Cabernet bring definition, forming a rich frame around the opulent fruit. Drinking well now, through 2026, it will compliment all BBQed meats and is deliciously moreish by itself.
