Description
A supremely rich and complex style embedded in fine, grainy tannins mirroring a long cellar life ahead, although drinking superbly at 3 years old, it's hard to muster the patience to age it to its 15-year potential. Crafted with minimal intervention Church Road Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Malbec spends a full 18 months in French oak, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to maximise its pure fruit characters.
Smells
Concentrated black fruits of cassis and freshly mown summer hay, with black plums, tobacco, cardamom and cedar.
Tastes
Full-bodied and very finely structured, with lots of lovely chocolate and savoury complexities threading the delicious, concentrated dark fruits buoyed by fine tannin and juicy acids. Drinking superbly now, its finest drinking beyond 7-8 years. Displaying the extract and balance to result in a beautiful mature wine. Enjoy with beef short rib now through 2035+
