Description

Cabernet Franc is a rare gem in New Zealand, but Clearview Estate has long been a proud champion of the variety. While this isn’t technically a 100% Cab Franc (there’s a whisper of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend), we’re certainly not complaining—this wine sings. Sourced from their stunning Te Awanga vineyards, perched right beside the ocean, it’s a wine that reflects its spectacular coastal terroir. Made only in select vintages, it’s a treat to see this wine return. Cabernet Franc’s signature perfumed lift, floral notes, and vibrant energy are beautifully expressed here, amplified by the cooling sea breezes that shape the vineyard's growing conditions. Combined with the exceptional 2024 vintage, this is a lively, expressive red that’s delicious now and will continue to shine through to 2028 and beyond.

and elegant, floral perfume with plum, spice & berry aromas.

Tastes

a focused palate structure with sinewy strength, poise, and power throughout. Blackcurrant leaf, sour cherries, and cranberries flavours are intertwined with rosehip and tar notes. A chewy, crunchy wine with chalky tannins and a fresh acid vein. No rush to drink as will soften and open with 3-4 years in the bottle, or if you cannot wait, decant one hour before serving. It will partner well with a juicy ribeye. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
