The Single Vineyard The Farm Cabernet Malbec comes from 1997 planted Cabernet Sauvignon and 1998 planted Malbec at their Lodge Hill Property on the Eastern Ranges of the Clare Valley. This is a nod to the wines Jim Barry was making in the 60’s and 70’s where Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec were often blended. Who doesn’t love a blast from the past…especially when it’s this good.
Smells
Lifted aromas of violet florals with dark berry fruits and a lick of oak spice, create a tantalising bouquet on the nose.
Tastes
This is a very structural wine offering flavours of bright mulberry and black cherry fruit, with earthy, forest floor flavours and savoury notes. This is a wine of great length, with well-integrated savoury tannins and bright fresh acid to finish. Drinking well now and for the next 2-3 years. Perfect for every BBQ affair. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
