Description
Originally planted in 1993, the 10ha of vineyards in Onetangi are all on steep slopes ranging from 10 degrees to 35 degrees. Enjoying the stunning micro-climate of Waiheke, they create generous and sophisticated reds. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec is both powerful and alluring.
Smells
Wonderful aromas of mocha, ripe blackcurrants, graphite, cedar, cinnamon and spice with toasty, vanilla notes in the background.
Tastes
Plush fruit with classical Bordeaux blend flavours, cassis, plum, coffee, and fresh tobacco leaf, with a delightful array of red and dark berries, including crunchy cranberries. With a few years bottle age, this offers excellent drinking, expressing true characteristics of the varieties, Merlot, and Cabernet, combined with New-World and Old-World traits with the savoury complexity due to age, makes for the perfect wine for family and friends and summer BBQs.
