Sourced from a hand-picked selection of top-notch vineyards, this Heretaunga Cabernet Franc draws character from the warm, stony Omahu Vineyard near Gimblett Road and the red metal soils of Bridge Pa’s Fratelli Vineyard. A relatively new powerhouse label, it combines the winemaking brilliance of Steve Smith MW (of Craggy Range fame) with the vision—and resources—of American environmentalist Brian Sheth. The result? A meticulously crafted, no-expense-spared Cab Franc that delivers power, elegance, and pure terroir in every sip.
Smells
perfumed notes of blackcurrant bud, red cherry stones, rosemary, and crushed thyme with a smattering of leather and spice.
Tastes
a very charming wine with poise, balance, and a long, lingering finish. Wonderful crushed red berry flavours: cassis, cranberry and rosehip are intertwined with exotic Asian spice and a dusting of toasty, vanilla oak, extending the palate. All coming together, making a wonderful drop. Drinking well now through 2030+ with roasted red meats. The recommended serving temperature is 15-17 degrees.
