Description
"Suckfizzle" is a memorable name drawn from the character “Great Lord Suckfizzle” in Rabelais’s Gargantua and Pantagruel. The vineyard, located at the southwestern tip of Margaret River, commands a uniquely rugged mesoclimate shaped by the Southern Ocean’s winds and estuarine influence. Initially, the Suckfizzle label launched with a white Bordeaux-style blend; today, it includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc–Semillon, and Cabernet Sauvignon, all prized for their vineyard-specific personality and longevity.
Smells
A refined perfume of mulberries, blackberries, and redcurrants, intertwined with star anise, sage, tobacco leaf, and delicate mocha.
Tastes
Medium to full-bodied, bursting with concentrated red and dark fruits, raspberry, cherry, mulberry and cassis, balanced by well defined acidity and fine-grained, supple tannins. Subtle spice notes and a seamless, silky mouthfeel lead to a long, elegant finish. Enjoy from 2027 through to 2035+, with roast lamb or hard cheese.
