Description

The Filius 2022 Cabernet has been turning heads—Wine Enthusiast awarded it a stellar 96 points, calling it “a fabulous vintage of Filius, and a total bargain for this level of quality.” On top of that, Wine Spectator named it the #2 Best Value Wine of 2023, making it a truly sought-after gem. Vasse Felix winemaker Virginia Willcock is a Cabernet specialist, and few places in the world showcase this grape better than Margaret River. Renowned for producing some of the finest Cabernets and blends outside the Médoc, the Filius label offers an accessible taste of a true Australian classic. The 2023 Filius Cabernet/Merlot is already following hot on the 2022’s heels, so stock up now—these bottles won’t hang around for long!

Smells

Beautifully poised and refined nose, with cigar box, mint, blackcurrant leaf, and deep plum and berry notes.

Tastes

Juicy, refined and very harmonious even in its youth, this is a wine that's designed to be enjoyed young, but could easily cellar for 5 to 8 years thanks to the harmony and concentration. Beautifully fine tannins and classical Cabernet mouthfeel round out a stunningly attractive package. Drink now and through 2030. Serve with lamb, beef, or venison. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
