The Menzies is iconic Australian Cabernet from the Coonawarra, famous for world class Cabernet and its red ‘terra rossa’ soils. Its formidable reputation evolved over decades and 2015 will grow the legend. Concentrated, classic Cabernet in a deeply evolving palate embraced by velvety tannin and texture. Grand Cabernet to savour from 2022 - 2035+ (please decant for at least an hour prior to 2022).
Smells
Pure cassis, leather and tobacco, with mint, dark chocolate and florals.
Tastes
Concentrated and velvety, it's a complete expression of Cabernet though boisterous in its youth (perfect for those who like big Aussie Reds). If you're patient though, the beauty of the Coonawarra Cabernet will prevail, evolving this wine into the multi-dimensional, harmonious and delicious red we know and love.
