Description

Over the years, the personalities of the different owners of Château d’Escurac have shaped this fine estate that thrones on one of the highest hillocks of the Medoc. Now owned by the Landureau family, Jean Michel developed the vineyard and his son Jean-Marc, took it to new heights in terms of winemaking. Sadly he passed away in 2017 and his daughter has now taken the reigns. They have 40Ha, 48% planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc.

Smells

Wonderful aromas of Classic Bordeaux; smoky, cigarbox, cassis, blackberry, indicative of good quality Cabernet, simply superb.

Tastes

The palate conjures that same image... seamless, a long, linear structure with classic, chalky tannins that coat your cheeks balanced by savoury, complex fruit and a fine acid thread. Cigarbox flavours linger and make you reminisce of a bygone era. No rush to drink as this will cellar 10-15 years or more.
