Chateau Grand Plantey is in the heart of the Entre-Deux Mers area, in Soussac village, 30km southeast of St-Emilion. The estate has 36ha of red grapes planted in clay and limestone soil, with 4ha dedicated to the white grapes of Bordeaux. Their 2021 vintage is 100% Merlot and is a graceful, cooler-climate expression of Bordeaux, marked by fruit purity, freshness, finesse, and subtle complexity. 4yrs old… it’s a delicious Bordeaux red and a superbly accessible price!
Smells
Bright red cherry, plum and raspberry notes rise from the glass, interwoven with hints of violet, wet stone, and a whisper of peppercorn.
Tastes
The palate is medium-bodied with current, cherry, plum and pomegranate laced with spice and dried herb subtleties. Fine acidity and caressing tannins provide energy, elegance & length - the finish has a luscious mineral freshness. Enjoy now through to 2028 with red meats and firm cheese.
