Description
Set in the limestone-rich hills just northeast of Saint-Émilion, Château Roc de Binet is a small, quality-driven estate that delivers classic Right Bank character with clarity and charm. The 2016 vintage—considered one of Bordeaux's finest in the decade—showcases the château’s potential in a wine that balances power, finesse, and elegant aging.
Smells
Mature yet vibrant, the bouquet reveals layers of black cherry, plum compote, and raspberry coulis, underscored by aged notes of leather, tobacco leaf, and dried rose. Subtle hints of truffle, pencil lead, and sweet spice add complexity and depth.
Tastes
Silky and composed, the palate shows well-integrated tannins and a supple, medium-bodied structure. Ripe cherry, fig, and blackberry, unfold alongside earthy nuances of cedar, cocoa, and forest floor. There's a gentle mineral tension from the limestone terroir, carrying through to a long, savory, and balanced finish. Enjoy now through to 2028, with Stilton or a good aged Cheddar.
