Description
Montagne-Saint-Emilion, a satellite appellation, is a region that offers excellent value for money and keep your eyes peeled for some exceptional bargains especially with the warmer seasons which have become the new normal. The wines from this appellation are showing a ripeness and depth typically unseen in this region in the past. We've been enjoying the Château Teyssier for a number of years now, and this 2022 right up there... a toasty, mouth-watering 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc Bordeaux blend.
Smells
Aromas of dark berry fruit, dark chocolate, liquorice, sandalwood, and dark spices.
Tastes
Concentrated with blueberry, dark plum, dried herbs, dark chocolate, and nutty flavours with a lingering savouriness on the finish. Rich, velvety tannins, add an X-factor, giving body and a density to the wine. Drinking well now, however decanting prior to serving will open this wine, through 2030+. Enjoy with red meats or hard cheese.
