Description
The ying to the Helmsman's yang, Brokenstone captures the superb performance of Merlot in the 2019 vintage. Always a little more approachable and friendly in its youth, its friendlier price means you can enjoy a few bottles while waiting for your Helmsman to soften. Brokenstone is also a serious cellar wine too, at its best around year 8 and cruising from there, the richness of fruit carries through to the long finish.
Smells
Lovely floral and cedar nose showing plums, blackberry, liquorice, and exotic spices.
Tastes
Lavish and luxurious in the mouth, Brokenstone is opulent and full-bodied while maintaining the classic 'Bordeaux freshness' that makes it so food friendly. Great now, it can be cellared for a decade or more. Serve with hearty stews or roasted red meats.
