Tannat’s origins lie in the Basque region in the shadow of the Pyrenees mountains, a terrain so rugged and windswept it’s no surprise Tannat is such a thick-skinned grape variety with such aggressive tannins. For NZ red wine lovers who love wines made in a full bodied/rustic style, winemaker Tony Prichard has shown impressive mastery of the grape’s tannins, crafting a robust wine of great weight and balance.

Full-bodied and clean with pure blackberry flavours then a reassuring whack of ripe, grainy tannins.
