Description
Côtes du Rhône is a long-standing favourite at Fine Wine Delivery, and when it comes from Famille Perrin—true masters of the Rhône Valley—you know you're in for something special. Their newly released 2022 is an absolute gem, delivering vibrant fruit, generous fleshiness, and robust tannins, all hallmarks of a ripe vintage. Crafted predominantly from their Grand Prébois (Grenache) and Vinsobres (Syrah) vineyards, this is a seriously good wine at a seriously good price—under $32! Perfect as an everyday red, it benefits from a quick decant and will happily age for another 5+ years. A Rhône essential to always have on hand.
Smells
a deep, dark, brooding bouquet with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, cedar, sandalwood, and spice.
Tastes
Intense and deep red colour with purple reflections. This wine opens with powerful, and very expressive notes. On the palate, it shows depth and concentration with chalky, robust tannins that balance the opulent ripe black fruit and typical Syrah spices with a superb long finish. Superb drinking now through 2030+ and will match with BBQ meats and especially pork ribs. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
