Description

A charming Côtes du Rhône that punches well above its price point, this 2023 blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre is a standout. The 35-year-old vines lend depth and complexity, while the higher proportion of Syrah and a splash of Mourvèdre in this vintage bring added structure and spice. Crafted in small batches with traditional methods and minimal oak, winemaker Bernard Schurr lets the fruit and terroir speak for themselves. The result? A soft, juicy red with silky tannins, vibrant dark fruit, and a subtle lift of Mediterranean herbs on the finish. Approachable yet refined, this is your ultimate everyday red—perfect with anything off the grill or a cheese board. At just $22, it’s a no-brainer. Stock up now; this won’t stay on shelves for long!

Smells

a bouquet that is enticing on every level, dark cherries, blackberries, liquorice with hints of fresh fennel and crushed thyme.

Tastes

The higher percentage of Syrah makes this simply stunning, with a wonderful tannin/acid interplay giving richness, balance, and drinkability. One sip and you will be hooked and only wanting more. Chalky, chewy tannins of a silky nature are layered throughout flavours of dark plums, dark chocolate and with a red berry coulis lift. All laced together by the herbal, savoury complexity and the acid drive personifying the long, salivating finish. Delicious and a bargain. Perfect with cured meats and all BBQ cuisine. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
