Description
Masi revolutionized winemaking in 1964 by pioneering the ‘Super Venetian’—a bold new style rooted in the traditional Amarone technique, using double fermentation to elevate intensity and character. The result is a wine that blends simplicity and grace with power and majesty. The nose is a heady mix of perfumed cherry, blackcurrant, and heather, laced with soft lavender and exotic earthy spices. On the palate, concentrated cassis, dried herbs, and remarkable richness unfold in layers. While built to age beautifully, this wine is already drinking with impressive depth and finesse.
Smells
Charmingly expressive on the nose it shows dried herbs, blueberry, leather, cinnamon, ripe cherry, and vanilla.
Tastes
A rich and brooding wine, this is something that invites time and contemplation. Savoury in style and with a healthy acidity, this wine truly comes to life when matched with the salty, cured foods of the Mediterranean. Its soft, velvety tannins make it extremely approachable and leads to a lengthy finish. It’s easy to see why Masi are known as masters of this style! The recommended serving temperature is 15-17 degrees.
