Description

Pouring a deep, inky black, this is no shy or retiring wine. From the first swirl, seductive aromas of smoky oak, dark liquorice and ripe cherry surge from the glass with luxurious intent. The palate is plush and opulent, a touch off-dry in that decadent Californian way, amplifying its sense of indulgence. Layers of dark plum, smoky bacon and spice glide to a smooth, lingering finish. McManis Petite Sirah may not be ‘petite’ by any stretch, but if you’re a fan of bold Aussie Shiraz, this is a must-try Californian cousin.

Smells

deep, dark blueberry fruits with baked mulberries, cedar, cinnamon quills, nutmeg, dusty vanilla, and coffee bean notes.

Tastes

big and bold yet with an enticing fruit compote that seduces the senses, underpinned by milk and dark chocolate, espresso coffee and a kaleidoscope of exotic spices. The warm, ripe fruit cuddles and coats the taste buds supported by soft morish tannins, making for a delicious, easy-drinking style that is irresistible. The quintessential BBQ wine this summer and next winter. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
