Description
Since its early days, in 1883, Bodega Trapiche has received worldwide recognition for its relentless quest for innovation. Their full understanding of the land as their most valuable asset, combined with state-of-the-art technology to venture into otherwise unchartered territory, have turned Trapiche into a winery that is constantly challenging what is allegedly known. The winery pioneered innovations such as the introduction of French varieties, the use of French oak barrels and the production of micro-terroir wines. Terroir Series finca Coletto is 100% Malbec from 11 year old vineyards grown at over 1100m, giving a purity to the fruit. Aged in new French oak for 18 months and has a long life ahead, 15 years or more.
Smells
aromas of red fruits, plums, black cherries and forest berries; blackberries and blueberries with exotic spice notes.
Tastes
The palate is fresh and full with sweet juicy and ample tannins that impress and satisfy with every sip. The finish is elegant and fine, speaking of the true high-altitude terroir in which the grapes were grown. A wine for the long haul and made for a juicy piece of steak.
