Founded in 1883, Trapiche is one of the oldest wine brands in Argentina. Situated in Mendoza at the foothills of the Andes, their vineyards are bio-dynamically managed. The Medalla wines were created to celebrate Trapiche’s 100-year anniversary and they have certainly crafted wines worthy of marking the occasion. Classic, generous Malbec aged in new French oak, with a degree of sophistication and style that belies the price. A beautifully presented wine, it is stunning inside and out!

Plump, dark plum and berry fruit aromas with hints of violets, coconut and toasty barrel notes of cinnamon and vanilla with a tar, earthy and herbal vein adding complexity.

Such a generous wine, it has an intensity of dark and red fruits, black strap liquorice and warming spices. The tannins are supple and the fine vanilla bean and smoky characters from the high-quality French barrel ageing are in perfect harmony. A creamy texture enhances the density of the wine, and the long, cocoa, and black plum finish rounds out a stunning, premium Malbec experience. This screams for a char-grilled, massive juicy steak, as thick as they come, rare verging on bleu (blue).
