Normally when you hear a red wine is unoaked, it means it's cheap and cheerful, but Trapiche have gone up several levels from their world-famous Oak Cask range and created the Pure range, of which this Black label is an absolute standout. The structure is serious, and the wine is massively concentrated, with amazing complexity and length. An awesome limited-edition wine, this will be at its best over the next 5 years.
Smells
Dark smoky plums and liquorice with blackberry and dark cherries.
Tastes
Big, rich, and structured, this is the ultimate meat match with loads of complex spice and a long finish. Robust tannins that will be tamed especially by Sirloin steak, the fat in the meat soothing the tannins. A heavenly combo….This is an outstanding wine.
