Description
The Estate Pinot Noir of the iconic winemaker Tim Bourne. Tim has taken over from Larry McKenna who was Mr Martinborough, but now Tim is making his mark on this esteemed top estate. The wineries single vineyard wines are legendary, but it's this Estate Pinot Noir that is the true voice of his region. It’s still handpicked, hand plunged every 12 hours and French Oak aged (27% new) for 11 months. Fragrant, delicate dried herb notes with the full gamut of red and black Pinot fruit that Tim strives for. While from a difficult vintage the Escarpment team have produced a wonderful Estate Pinot Noir.
Smells
Soft, savoury, and gently herbal, with dark cherry, red fruits, smoke and cured meat.
Tastes
Beautifully sensual with serious tannin structure, lots of complex fruit and a dry, nuanced finish. Great now but better in 5 to 7 years, it will cellar 10+. Perfect with stews and slow cooked or roasted meats.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
