It’s bigger sibling ‘Southern Tor’ claimed the same trophy in 2020 and swept all before it in NZ’s Top Wine Awards last year. Plus, it has just been awarded Platinum, 97/100 & “Best in Show” at the World’s other toughest wine show… Decanter World Wine Awards, also in London. Smells
Aromas over-flow the glass with heady notes of freshly foraged wild red berries, black cherry, cranberry, crushed fresh herbs, and a subtle salty lift. Beautifully intense, making you sit back and inhale deeply, again and again.
Tastes
A structured Pinot Noir with plush red and black fruits encased by grainy tannins in a framework consistent with excellent food compatibility and aging. The silky fruit is underpinned by fine savoury and cured meat complexities adding intrigue to its voluminous palate. Crammed with Central Otago charm encouraging early drinking. However, it has the necessary weight and structure to age beautifully through 2028-2030. At its unreal quality v price ratio… you’ll struggle to age it beyond this year. Serve with pasta, mushrooms, lamb or duck.
