Michelle has reunited with Sir George Fistonich to make the new and exciting Obliix wines – a return to the dream team of 1995-2005 responsible for an unprecedented collection of Champion Trophies & Gold Medals during their reign. Though saddened by the sale of Villa Maria, George's passion remains undiminished. His latest venture, Obliix, showcases his enduring commitment to excellence. Discover the new wines of George Fistonich reunited with his “Dream Team” winemaker Michelle… Obliix, where tradition meets innovation. 2O23 was a textbook vintage for Marlborough. Clear blue-sky days with sporadic clouds and cool nights, which Pinot Noir thrives on, ensuring fruit purity, excellent ripeness and fruit development. Hand & machine harvested fruit was fermented on skins then matured in a mix of seasoned oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks to create a delicious, fresh body of flavour.
Smells
Heady black plum, cherry, subtle thyme, toast and savoury aromas.
Tastes
Soft, plushily black fruited and juicy front palate wrapped in ripe tannins, forming a backdrop for vibrant fruit to be energised throughout the long lingering lip-smacking finish. Drinking well now through 2027 and the recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
