Description
Tohu Wines is the world’s first Māori owned wine company. Since 1998, Tohu has focused on producing estate grown, single vineyard wines from NZ’s premier grape growing regions. The Tohu winemaking philosophy is to create wines that capture the flavours of each region’s unique environment, while upholding respect and protection of the land for future generations. This 2021 Awatere Pinot is from a single vineyard with 18-year-old vines, and it superb, a great vintage which shines strongly in the glass.
Smells
savoury, earthy, bramble, forest floor and cherry stone aromas.
Tastes
smooth, sexy, silky tannins that are interwoven through the complex and savoury fruit flavours with a bright, salivating acidity giving freshness and drinkability. A Pinot Noir that shows beautiful fruit concentrations, still youthful, dense and energetic. There is a silky core of fruit that entices the senses but will benefit from 4-5 years bottle age. Enjoy with roast pork belly or gamy meats. The recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
