Description
Founded by Phil and Chris Rose back in 1978, some of the vines at Wairau River are seriously gnarly these days and making some excellent wines. The joy of the place from a customer's point of view though is the value the wines offer, wines like this Pinot Noir showing lots of juicy wild berries and smoky oak flavours in a soft and drinkable style.
Smells
Smoky French oak over top of wild berries, plum and cherry.
Tastes
Soft and plump in the mouth but backed up by some chalky tannins, elevating the quality from the everyday tipple to a serious food-friendly wine (that won't break the bank). A very drinkable wine that will be right at home with pork spareribs or roast duck. Enjoy now through to 2025.
