Description

Matt Thomson and Sophie Parker-Thomson’s opening statement is: In a world where much of what we consume is made to a recipe – predictable and more often than not, unmemorable – we want our wines to excite, delight and inspire you. We want every sip to capture both your heart and your mind. Certainly, their Reed Chardonnay did exactly that, it captured my heart and mind. They source fruit from other regions, and their Element Syrah from Gimblett Gravels has unbridled power, depth, and colour but a little closed at the moment. Put this one away for 8-10 years and we are sure the benefits will be exponential.

Smells

brooding aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black pepper with an earthy, meaty complexing vein which slightly dominates at the moment and needs time to integrate.

Tastes

the colour is impressive as is the fruit weight and structure. It is showing the slightly rugged nature of a youthful wine right now but has all the components to age gracefully, intense fruit concentration, a firm tannin backbone with acid to balance. Hide in your cellar for 10 years+ and you will be delighted. The recommended serving temperature is 15-17 degrees.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
