Description
We've always regarded Coopers Creek Chalk Ridge as one of New Zealand's finest Syrahs, and certainly one of the finest values. It always woos the critics as well. A seriously deep, spicy and velvety smooth Syrah that’s incredible considering the growing season was problematic. There is excellent ripeness, an exemplary wine with plenty of great years in front of it.
Smells
A sensational bouquet of cracked black pepper, violet florals, new car leather, blackberry, plum and boysenberry.
Tastes
Spicy, extremely pure and very concentrated, this is the very definition of Hawke's Bay Syrah. Drink it with lean cuts of meat and good company between now and 2027.
