Description
This Shiraz is grown on sandy soils in Blewitt Springs, which lies in the North-eastern corner of McLaren Vale. These soils typically give shiraz of medium body with lifted dark fruit, sweet spice, and charcuterie. Winemaking involved the inclusion of some whole bunch, whole berry and crushed fruit giving an array of textures and flavours. Matured in seasoned oak for 12 months.
Smells
Dark yet glossy fruits, sweet herbs, demerara sugar and cherry juice.
Tastes
Medium bodied and savoury textured, plush sweet-fruited palate, fine and long, a nice density of tannin, unfurling layers of flavour, mulberry and cherry juice, dark spice, a little smoky and incense, cured meat and a little gravelly texture to finish. Perfect drinking now through 2028 and will make every BBQ magical.
