Description
The new kid on the block who is taking Aussie and the world by storm. And the credentials of the place, soils, people and viticultural practices are nothing short of impressive. Founded in 2015 by Amelia Nolan (Australian), owned by Argentine Vintner Alejandro Bulgheroni, assisted by world renowned Italian Winemaker Alberto Antonini and a detailed undertaking of the many micro-terroir by Chilean terroir specialist Pedro Parra. That is too many wow’s to write on this page. They use concrete tulip tanks, and eggs, for their wild ferments and maturation. The Kin is their entry level range which celebrates their community of makers, thinkers and artists. The range allows them to explore different parts of the vineyard each year and then trial ideas and blends. Impressive from go to whoa….
Smells
It is lifted and floral, with red, blue and black fruit that feels cool and controlled. There are added meaty complexing layers that add to compliment the picture, stunning bouquet.
Tastes
2023 is their 3rd release and displays a pretty, elegant vintage character that really suits this wine. The tannins build on the palate and cut through the fruit, bringing savoury structure and savoury refreshment. The balance and poise here are impressive, almost Northern Rhone like, a wine layered with complexity and a depth of fruit that is in harmony, well handled and a stunning example of Barossa Shiraz, unlike any other.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
