Crafted entirely from premium Gimblett Gravels fruit—Hawke’s Bay’s most celebrated subregion for Syrah—this 2024 release is a standout. Aged for 12 months in French oak, it delivers all the hallmarks of great New Zealand Syrah: fragrance, finesse, and spice. Lifted aromas of black pepper, violets, and dark berries lead to a full-bodied palate with layers of plum, clove, and subtle oak. A bold, robust style with finely structured tannins that build depth and deliver a wine of presence and authority—one that demands your attention. Syrah with poise and character, made for food and made to impress.
Smells
Exotic spices, with violet florals, black pepper, cured meat, blackberry and plum.
Tastes
Full flavoured and fresh, with juicy dark fruit, savoury notes, and a robust tannic structure, this is textbook Syrah from a solid year. Enjoy in its youth but decant one hour prior to serving or cellar through 2030 and reap the rewards. Serve with your favourite BBQed meats, lamb, venison or eggplant. The recommended serving temperature is 15-17 degrees.
