Description
One of the most sought after Aussie reds. Old vine, dry grown fruit from some of the finest grape-growing families in the Barossa. Open-fermented and matured in a mix of American and French oak for nearly 2 years for that old school charm. Wonderfully decadent.
Smells
A heady bouquet of black pepper, black fruits, cedar, dark baking spices, black liquorice, and earthy aromas.
Tastes
A wine of two halves, powerful yet elegant that is composed, yet perfectly ripe with classic descriptives of blackberries, cedar, leather, forest floor and even tar flavours. The palate is supple with wonderfully enveloping tannins. There is a synergy and tension between the fruit weight, complexity, precise tannins with a warm, chocolate, toasty, vanilla finish.
