Description
One taste and it’s unsurprising this 2022 Epiphany was crowned Champion Shiraz at China Wine & Spirits Awards + awarded Double Gold. Sister's Run have a steel-cap boot and a stiletto as its logo, a reference to the tendencies of winemaker Elena Brooks, who wears steel cap boots to work but always carries a pair of stilettos in the back of her Ute in case of an emergency. The dichotomy between the two worlds of glam award nights and the hard work always calling in the vineyard and winery. Elena’s Midas touch is perfectly displayed in this 2022 Sister’s Run Epiphany McLaren Vale Shiraz. Which also has a second Double Gold + 94-95/100 ratings. Once tasted it’s a challenge to put your glass down. A nicely developed, complex Shiraz that will drink well over the next 5-6 years.
Smells
Cherry, blackberry, raspberry, spice, chocolate, tobacco box and earthy aromas abound. The fruit is incredibly prominent upfront, but the more you sniff, the more the savouriness emerges.
Tastes
Superb balance of ripe black & red fruits with a wonderful savouriness throughout! Seductive chocolate, spice & subtle toasty oak add charm to the moreish finish that makes it almost impossible to put your glass down. Perfect with all BBQ meats… and simply enjoy by itself too.
