Description
Askerne is a boutique, single estate winery owned by the Loughlin family. If you are looking for a classic style of Chardonnay from Hawkes Bay which speaks of the down to earth goodness of the region and the rays of sunshine that bless their fair shores, then this is the wine for you. And at sub $27, this is a bargain, a wine packed with fruit concentration giving a whole lot of wine compared to its minor price tag.
Smells
the bouquet is packed full of ripe stone fruit, peaches, nectarines, pineapple, and roasted hazelnuts.
Tastes
And the palate is a winner, it exudes the virtues of Hawkes Bay Chardonnay, a rich, creamy, buttery texture that gives warmth throughout. One sip is simply not enough as the long, juicy, salivating, viscous finish leaves the tastebuds begging for more. Yellow guava and peach skin flavours are seamlessly entwined within the churned butter, cream, vanilla pod, and toasty notes. When you have an image of how a good Hawkes Bay Chardonnay should taste, this is it. Buy a few bottles as it is drinking well now through 2028 and will match with your favourite white meats. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
