In 2011, we identified Tim Turvey and his Clearview Estate as the perfect partner for our Collaboration Chardonnay. His vineyards renowned for their generously flavoured, consistently ripe fruit and higher natural acid levels from the cooler night-time breezes on the Te Awanga Coast. Collaboration has been Fine Wine Delivery’s #1 selling Chardonnay for 14-years. This 14th consecutive Collaboration Chardonnay from the outstanding 2024 vintage is an absolute knockout! We knew that when we spent several hours blending it with Tim Turvey and Clearview Chief Winemaker Matt Kirby… but absolute confirmation can only occur when the final blend is in bottle. When come together to blend… we know exactly the wine style we are wanting for Collaboration, and we have many excellent Clearview ferments to choose from to create our perfect blend. We listened to our customers 14-years ago before we chose to collaborate with Tim and his Clearview team. You said… “Bold, good concentration of fruit, measured toasty oak and creamy buttery lees influence… finishing FRESH so you never tire of it”. Apropos the stunning quality of vintage… 2024 Collaboration is another step up from the massively popular and exceptionally made 2023. It was bottled late February and spent 8-weeks coming together before release. It can age; it’s quality commensurate with other $30+ Chardonnay. Importantly we make it in a style that is consistent and ready to drink on release, so why age, enjoy it, there’ll be another great Collaboration next year.
Smells
Ripe golden peach, nectarine, a hint of grapefruit, hazelnut butter and enticing toasty oak aromas – you just want to get it in your mouth!
Tastes
You’ll be impressed by the concentration of rich pure stone fruit, toasty oak & seductive nutty/buttery lees characters… plus the trademark freshness on the finish is so moreish. It always drinks beautifully as a young Chardonnay... but it is complex and will exponentially improve throughout the next 12-24 months! You’re always drawn back to the glass for more! Enjoy through 2029.
