Description
Benchmark value premium Hawkes Bay Chardonnay… has been so for a decade. The 78% parcel of Te Awanga fruit delivers scintillating structural balance and beautiful salinity, the 22% from Bridge Pa adds richness to the already concentrated, elegant palate… move over White Burgundy. The real deal, judiciously crafted! Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, before fermentation in fine French oak (16% new) for 12 months. The resulting wine is a case study in richness and harmony, a tribute to another Hawkes Bay vintage that will rank among the greats… to exceptional vineyards and to twice NZ Winemaker of the Year Hugh Crichton.
Smells
Elegant and Burgundian, showing great fruit concentration yet purity and minerality, think grapefruit, brioche, ripe stone fruit and nougat.
Tastes
Juicy yet with focus and precision, brioche, nougat, ripe citrus, and white flowers, oh so stylish Chardonnay. Layers of complexity, creaminess… hugely satisfying from first to last sip. Concentration, elegance, and seduction from go to whoa. Enjoy with roast white meats and poultry dishes and drinking well now through 2028… save a glass for after dinner. For optimal drinking pleasure the recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
