Crafted with a carefully selected mix of fruit from Rapaura and Renwick vineyards, wild yeast and barrel fermented/aged in a mix of 20 % new & seasoned older French Oak barrels for 10 months. By the esteemed Isabel Estate team, the Hawkesbridge Reserve range showcases the depth and elegance that Marlborough can achieve whilst remaining exceptionally priced. With a focus on balance, complexity, and site expression, this Reserve Chardonnay reflects the winemaker’s commitment is to purity & precision… and making Isabel crafted wine prowess affordable to regular wine drinkers. The whole range is impressive, this full-flavoured premium Chardonnay would be exceptional value circa $25.
Smells
A refined bouquet of white peach, lemon curd, and toasted cashew, with seductive hints of flint and crème brulée.
Tastes
Generously the palate opens with ripe stone fruit and citrus zest, layered over fine toasty French oak and creamy lees influence. Richly textured with mineral freshness and drive… well-integrated acidity draws everything together. Long and focused, finishing with grilled hazelnut and peach.
