Description
Pencarrow Chardonnay might be Palliser Estate’s second label, but it’s punching well above its weight—especially in recent vintages. Grown and made at the iconic Palliser Estate in Martinborough, this wine is proof that exceptional Chardonnay doesn’t have to come with a premium price tag. The fruit is estate-grown, and the barrel fermentation and maturation program rivals that of top-tier labels. The judicious use of French oak brings those creamy, toasty, vanilla notes that Chardonnay fans crave, all balanced by a line of freshness and finesse. The palate is impressively sophisticated—many producers would be thrilled to get this level of quality from their flagship wine.
Whether you're a longtime Chardonnay lover or just starting to explore the style, this is a bottle you’ll want to have on hand. It’s a quiet overachiever, and a fantastic way to experience Martinborough class without the big price tag.

Smells
Initially notes of spiced peach, citrus blossom and nougat are to the fore while a second swirl reveals notes of roasted nuts and butterscotch.
Tastes
If the nose didn't wow you enough, the palate certainly will, and lovers of fuller, richer styles will adore this wine’s creamy character and soft succulent finish. Enjoy with pork, chicken, or veal between now and the end of 2028+. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
