Description
Founded in 1996 by winemaker Stuart Pym (formerly with Voyager Estate) and Janice McDonald, Stella Bella began with the acquisition of the renowned Suckfizzle vineyard, the most southerly in Margaret River. Their first vintage, a Sauvignon Blanc–Semillon, appeared in 1997 and quickly garnered attention for its bold character. Quickly, Stella Bella became a benchmark winery in the Margaret River, balancing unwavering commitment to terroir expression, parcel-specific winemaking, and aesthetic refinement.
Smells
An immediate burst of lemon and lime pith underscored by the fine toast of new French oak. As the wine opens, aromas evolve into delicate pink grapefruit intertwined with intriguing gun‑flint minerality and a fresh hint of sea spray
Tastes
Silky and laser‑precise, the wine glides across the palate with bright, natural acidity balanced by phenolic texture from the Gingin clone. A complex medley of citrus, pink grapefruit, savory almond‑meal sweetness, and a refreshing spring‑water finish persist in unison, resulting in a wine that’s both powerful and pristine. Enjoy now through to 2030+, with poultry, pork, fish or soft cheese.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
