And one that won’t break the piggy bank, especially considering its sub $20 price tag, again this is a perfect choice. The grapes were grown at the Brunton Road Vineyard in the Patutahi Plateau, Gisborne’s youngest and most promising growing spot. The rich Kaiti clay soils is famous for producing premium-flavoured fruit. This spot is much warmer and drier than other areas. The grapes grown on this site give the wine Golden peach, citrus, and fig notes.
Smells
It delights the nose with melon, pineapple, and grapefruit with hints of hazelnut and caramel.
Tastes
Giving generous flavours of ripe citrus, golden peach, and juicy pawpaw. Well balanced and approachable, with lingering bright fruit notes. A medium-bodied Chardonnay with a soft, silky texture and a wine that is very approachable and that everyone will love. Drinking well now and will match with salads, cheese, and vegetarian cuisine.
