Description
The vineyard was planted in 1988 solely for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the vineyard was acquired in 2011 by cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith (of Shaw + Smith). They have since committed to seeing it become one of Australia’s greatest single vineyard sites, and this Chardonnay definitely puts it on the map.
Smells
The gun smoke and grapefruit are intense, complimented by nectarines and spice.
Tastes
There is a cornucopia of juicy nectarines, peaches, and grapefruit. Ginger and spice join the party, along with a mouth-watering saline minerality. This latest release maintains the classic Tolpuddle backbone of acidity, lemon pith, and some flinty minerality. A combination of lightness, delicacy, and texture. Seriously good drinking. Enjoy with pan-fried snapper with a lemon caper butter sauce.
