Xanadu is a tried and trusted, a well-established winery from Western Australia and this new Vinework label is a refreshment of the brand. Vinework replaces the former DJL series, and this Chardonnay is a first to the Fine Wine shelves as the DJL Chardonnay was not previously part of our range. And wow what a stonking Chardonnay this is…The refreshment of the brand has certainly not impacted the quality, rather it seems the whole package inside and out has taken a big step upwards.
Smells
subtle aromas of peaches and cream with roasted hazelnuts and cashews layered with butter, toasty vanilla, and bready notes.
Tastes
this is an outstanding Chardonnay that speaks of the class that Western Australia offers. There is harmony, balance, poise, and charm from whoa to go, with perfectly integrated oak. White nectarine, nashi pear, and lime zest with creamy, buttery flavours enhance the overall complexity and quality of this wine. A simply stunning Chardonnay and for sub $31, this is an absolute bargain and will make any Christmas lunch, even more special. Drinking superbly now through 2027.
