Description
On our shelves we have Maretti Langhe Rosso, a charming blend of Barbera, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, a cheapy but a goodie, now they have released a Soave. Made by the Fontanafredda team where Soave is in the region of Veneto and Garganega is the principal grape variety. Soave wines are likened to Pinot Grigio, a fresh, fruity, lighter, dry white style intended for everyday drinking.
Smells
charming aromas of ripe pears, gala apples, cream of soda, lemon zest and lifted notes of white pepper and honeysuckle.
Tastes
a very rich, charming and delightful expression of a Soave, more like a NZ Pinot Gris. Clearly, the fruit was picked a little later in the season and lower crops levels, resulting in a moderately concentrated wine with a creamy texture and weighty mid-palate. The best Soave to come across the Fine Wine tasting table in a long time. The perfect afternoon wine or take on a picnic or as an aperitif and will match with cheese, cured meats or smoked salmon. Drinking perfectly now and through the next summer.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
