Description
The world of wine mirrors life—constantly evolving, with trends that rise, fade, and return anew. After decades dominated by international varieties, there’s a renewed appreciation for native grapes—especially the rare and distinctive. Nivarius is a perfect expression of this revival, crafted from Tempranillo Blanco, a white mutation of Spain’s noble red grape that was nearly lost to history.
Thanks to the dedication of the Palacios team, this once-endangered Rioja variety is now being brought back to life. Nivarius is the only winery known to focus exclusively on White Rioja, making it a true pioneer. It’s been on our shelves at Fine Wine for a few years now, this latest release offers you the chance to experience something both rare and remarkable—don’t miss it.

Smells
rich, warm aromas of hazelnuts, almonds, marzipan, and Golden Queen peaches with hints of vanilla and spice.
Tastes
the rich, creamy, oily, mid-palate weight and texture are striking, adding an unctuous quality to the wine, and making it irresistible. The wine has a voluminous nature finishing with a fine, piquant, Gin & Tonic like finish, all balanced by the peaches and cream flavours and the saline, salty acidity. Superb drinking now through 2028 with your favourite white meats. The recommended serving temperature is 8-10 degrees.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
