Description

It’s no exaggeration to call Kumeu River Estate Pinot Gris iconic. Alongside the very best from Central Otago, it stands as one of the few truly premium Pinot Gris produced in New Zealand — and a benchmark for the style. Each year, the moment it hits our shelves, it barely has time to settle before selling out, long before the next vintage arrives. The secret? Impeccable vineyard management, low yields, and a meticulous touch that captures the grape’s purest expression. The result is a wine of remarkable depth, richness, and poise — beautifully textured with ripe stone fruit, lifted florals, vibrant acidity, and a fine mineral thread that keeps everything in perfect harmony. Complex, full-bodied, and irresistibly moreish — this is Pinot Gris at its most complete.

Smells

Subtle white flowers precede white peach, nectarine, fresh pear and baking spices.

Tastes

A delicious parade of rich stone fruits and pear infused with baking spices in an Alsace viscous like texture buoyed by gently tangy citrus and fresh mineral notes. Great with food (white meats, poultry, shellfish) but also delicious by itself. Enjoy through 2027. The recommended serving temperature is 9-11 degrees.
