Description

Every other Kiwi Pinot Gris wants to be Alsace. This one actually earns the comparison. Mount Brown’s Grand Reserve is lush, off-dry, and layered with spice — a wine that wraps ripe pear, ginger and citrus in silky texture and serious intent. Built for bold flavours (hello Thai takeout), it’s complex without showing off, and always in frustratingly short supply. Blink, and it’s gone from the Fine Wine Shelves. Get it while it whispers your name.

Smells

Expressive bouquet of pears, apples, exotic spices, and quince.

Tastes

Lush and expressive with ripe pear, baked apple, and white peach at the core. Hints of candied ginger, orange blossom, and nutmeg add intrigue, while a fine thread of acidity keeps everything fresh and focused. The palate is rich and off dry with a generous, silky texture and a long, spicy finish that lingers with notes of poached quince and citrus zest. Drinking perfectly now through 2027 and will pair well with canapes, cheese or Asian cuisine. The recommended serving temperature is 7-10 degrees.
