Situated on the coastline of Hawke’s Bay, the Te Awanga sub-region enjoys a warm, extended growing season and the benefit of cleansing sea breezes in a virtually frost-free microclimate. And this Riesling highlights the virtues of this special place and speaks of the clean, pure nature of this part of the world. Pristine fruit was hand harvested in mid-March from two stoney Te Awanga sites.
A gentle press cycle was followed by extended cold settling & careful racking to secure crystal-clear juice for fermentation, a cool ferment followed, which was stopped with 6g/L residual sugar to balance the vibrant natural acidity.
